Pewter Pot update - what happens next

Thanks to all of you who wrote letters of opposition to Planning about the proposed Pewter Pot redevelopment.  The deadline for 'representations' has now passed.

What happens next?

The Planning Officer, a council specialist assigned to manage the application, needs time to look at all the 'representations', consider their content and form a view on whether they are going to support the Planning Application - or recommend to the Planning Committee that they should reject it.

Their decision isn't made public at this point - only at the end of the process, when all the paperwork is released. But whatever they say, the application will go before one of the Council's Planning Committee meetings, which take place every two weeks. We probably won't need to wait very long for this to happen. August/September maybe... An update will be posted on the website.

The Committee, comprising about 18 councillors, can decide to 'go against' the Planning Officer's recommendation.  Or they can support it.

We'll let you know the date of the relevant Planning Committee meeting.  Anyone can attend - although you're not allowed to speak, apparently!

If you want to make any suggestions about the kind of information you want to see on our website, please let us know.

Woodside Community Council - update on elections

A quick update on the Pewter Pot, and events at the meeting of Woodside Community Council on 4th July.

First, a big Thank You to all who turned up - both to vote in the elections and take part in the discussion afterwards.

It was a successful evening for residents of the Lansdowne area.  All three of the Lansdowne candidates - Jim Findlay, Ann Simpson and Jack Stuart - were elected with large majorities.  Our congratulations to them!  It's great to have proper representation back on this important local body.
